Here we are standing for a picture by the Atlantic Ocean. We are trying to beat the waves so we don't get to wet. This is one of the more beautiful days we had on our trip. Hot and dry (no rain). |

Sight along the free way. We think they were built for the Worlds Fair. It looks like it's right out of Men in Black!
|
This is the Manhattan Temple. We were on the last tour bus of the day, so we couldn't get off to see it better. |
This is one of many parks for children in Central Park. It is a very pretty and well maintained park. |
A nice war memorial statue in Central Park. |
This is a view of New York City from the harbor. You can see the Empire State Building. |
This is Ellis Island. We did get off and tour the museum there and ate lunch there. Pretty impressive. |
The Statue of Liberty. It was so cool to cruise around it. We didn't get off because there were "millions" of people there and we didn't reserve tickets 4 months ago to be able to go to the crown, so we just stayed on the boat. |
Awesome! |
Sandra and Bob on the boat cruising around the Statue of Liberty. |
This is the United Nations building. They are not in session right now or all those flag poles would have flags of the different countries and we wouldn't even be close enought to get this picture :)
Back at the end of the street is where they are doing construction to build a memorial for the World Trade Twin Tower buildings that were bombed on 9/11.
|
This must be King Kong. He came out to entertain us while waiting in line. People took pictures standing next to him. |
This Bob among the crowds of people on the Observation deck of the 86th floor of the Empire State building |
This is looking from the Observation Deck. The Chrysler Building is the tall pointy one and you can see a nice bridge behind it. I can't remember all the names. | <><>
Sandra at the top of the Empire State Building! | <><>
You can see Liberty Island with the Statue of Libery and Ellis Island from the top of the Empire State Building. |
One of several ponds in Central Park.
This is the Macy's department store building. The one famous for having the parade. The Empire State building hiding in the clouds the first day we were there. Notice the cute rain ponchos we got to wear!
