We had Bob's mother and step-dad and brother over for Thanksgiving dinner. All of my children (except Christina, she is still living at home) were out of state visiting in-laws. We had a good visit with them. They stayed all day. We played pool. Brian is good at it. He can get the balls in and figure out his shots. Me, I just hope it goes in somewhere! Later we played bowling on the WII.
We got our Christmas lighting display up. We have received a lot of nice comments from people we hardly know telling us how pretty our lights are. We have strings and strings of lights left over from our old house that we don't have room for here. I suppose we will have plenty of replacement lights now!
The school I work for had a Christmas Choir concert. All the classes learned 3 Christmas songs to sing. They came dressed in their Sunday best. We had to be there as teachers to help with the transitions from classes. All the children did a great job singing.
Bob, Christina and I went to Nevada to visit Anthony and Trudy. Their Stake has a Creche Exhibit. They started it nine years ago. Families from the LDS church and other faiths are asked to display Nativity scenes they have. There were hundreds on display. I collect Nativity sets so I wanted to go see them. Plus, it gave us a good reason to go visit Anthony and Trudy. I think it would be fun to start something like that here. I have a lot to share myself. There are so many different kinds. Sets, ornaments, wood carvings, crystals, pictures, needle work, quilts, popcicle stick sets, blocks, rocks. Big, small, tiny, huge, ornate, plain, inspiring, comical. It was marvelous to behold! Anthony and Trudy took us out target shooting while we were there. Beowawe is worse then Wyoming terrain. So, maybe, Michael you can get an idea of what it is like living there. They live, literally in the middle of no where. Their closest neighbor is 15 minutes away! They drive on the freeway for 30 minutes to Carlin to go to church. The closest town with any good stores is Elko a 45 minute drive away. Their Temple district is the Salt Lake Temple, a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive. But, they are enjoying their ward and know a lot of people from the stake, so they are starting to like being there. Trudy drives 15 minutes to work to teach school and Anthony walks across a field to a metal fabrication shop to work with 2 other people!
