September fun!

 We went to Bryce Canyon for Labor Day weekend.  Septermber 4-6.  We picked Christina up from SUU.  Here is Bob and I on one of the beautiful trails in Bryce.  Below that is some "stairs" leading up out of the canyon on one of the trails we took!

Christina and Bob crossed this river on a fallen tree and climbed up the other side.  I decided to stay behind and watch them have their fun!  This is found on the other side of Bryce.

They made it to the top.  I zoomed in so you could see them.  The rock formations are so amazing!

 Coming down.  Bob found a good shirt up there and is bringing it down.  Below is another river leading to a waterfall just below the last trail Christina and Bob were on.  Christina decided to walk down the river because we couldn't see a trail to the falls.  Then Bob found a trail and I followed him.

 Here we are under the falls.  A very cool mist coming from it!

 This picture is from a slate canyon wilderness area that we went to that is 15 miles south of Cedar City.  If you look carefully you can see a frog in the formation.  (At least I can!)

We had a wonderful weekend together.  We even went to church at Christina's college ward.

Third Grandbaby! It's a boy!

Emmett Thomas Petroff was born on Friday August 13, 2010.  He weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces and 18 inches long. Look at his beautiful dark hair! Straight not curly. Third child of Thomas and Elise Petroff.  Pround grandparents are Bob and Sandra Petroff and Jane and Eric Larsen. The top picture we have Olivia and Savannah holding Emmett with Grandma helping. Then we have the happy family together. Tom and Elise, Emmett, Savannah and Olivia. Christina got to come from work on her break to see the exciting arrival of Emmett with Olivia and Savannah. Bob is holding Emmett on the SECOND day.  He doesn't look as red now.  Sandra is happy to be holding her new bundle of joy.

2010 Summer vacation part 2!

Here is part 2 of our trip.  As I worked on it the pictures kept getting mixed up.  So hopefully it isn't too confusing and you can enjoy the pictures from our trip.  I sure enjoyed it.  We made it from Utah all the way to Maine and back!
This is on the beach at Kittery, Maine.  Anthony went all the way out in to the Atlantic ocean.  He said it was very cold.

Here we are standing for a picture by the Atlantic Ocean.  We are trying to beat the waves so we don't get to wet.  This is one of the more beautiful days we had on our trip.  Hot and dry (no rain).

This is the USS Constitution nicknamed "Old Ironsides" is the oldest comissined warship afloat in the world.
It is in the Charlestown Navy Yard across the bay from Boston.

This is Watch Hill Light House in Rhode Island.

Sight along the free way.  We think they were built for the Worlds Fair.  It looks like it's right out of Men in Black!

This is the Manhattan Temple.  We were on the last tour bus of the day, so we couldn't get off to see it better.  

We took a tour bus to see the sights of New York City.  So much easier then trying to find parking to go to all these places.  We did a lot of walking as it was to get to different tour sights.  This is Time Square.  See the little ball at the top of the lights just above 2010.  The tour guide said they leave the ball that drops up there all year now.  Notice how the road splits and goes on each side of it.

Thes next two buildings are just some fun shapes we saw that I liked.  Once again the roads go on each side of the building.  Kind of fun!

This is on the Harbor Cruise.  There is an Air Craft Carrier docked where we got on the boat.

Here we go, McDonald's on Broadway!  We didn't make it to a show.  It's complicated.  But we did make it to McDonald's a lot.  That's about all we could afford by now!

The New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street. It was raining like crazy.  We wore the thin plastic ponchos given to us by the tour company and then we had our umbrellas.  But we are tourist, so we must trudge on.

This is one of many parks for children in Central Park.  It is a very pretty and well maintained park.

This is a view of New York City from the harbor.  You can see the Empire State Building.

This is Ellis Island.  We did get off and tour the museum there and ate lunch there. Pretty impressive.

The Statue of Liberty.  It was so cool to cruise around it.  We didn't get off because there were "millions" of people there and we didn't reserve tickets 4 months ago to be able to go to the crown, so we just stayed on the boat.

This is the United Nations building.  They are not in session right now or all those flag poles would have flags of the different countries and we wouldn't even be close enought to get this picture :)

Back at the end of the street is where they are doing construction to build a memorial for the World Trade Twin Tower buildings that were bombed on 9/11.

This must be King Kong.  He came out to entertain us while waiting in line.  People took pictures standing next to him.

This is the Macy's department store building. The one famous for having the parade.  The Empire State building hiding in the clouds the first day we were there. Notice the cute rain ponchos we got to wear!
