Boston Trip

Boston was great. The weather was mild. Usually sunny in the morning and clouding up by afternoon with rain showers on some evenings. We went for an AIA convention. The convention is for classes to keep up the required education points to keep Bob's archetects license. After the convention we toured Boston toghether. I toured a little on my own while he was at the convention.
This is the USS Constitution. "Old Iron Side".
This is USS Cassin Young. A World War II destroyer. Both at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
This is the shore line of Boston. Taken while on the "in harbor" tour.
This is a gorgeous view of a light house on one of the islands way out in the Boston harbor. A good one of Bob too!

This is a picture of Bunker Hill. We climbed the 294 stairs up! There are 4 little windows on each side to look out and view the Boston area.

We went on a whale watch cruise and were able to see whales swimming. They would surface and then go back down. No glorious jumping though. This first picture you can see two whales swimming. A mother and her baby. The guides said they don't see that very often. Look just off the edge of the ship and you can see the two humps.
In this picture you can see it's blow snout!

The Old North Church where the two lanterns were hung. The streets in Boston are so narrow and small! Driving can be very crazy here.
This is Paul Revere's house.

This is a street to drive on! Plus original buildings. You can also see the red brick line that marks the path of the freedon walk.
We went to the Boston Temple and did a session there. It is very beautiful in side. Always such a peaceful place to be. One of the medium to smaller temples.
This is a picture of the Lexington Battle Green. Site of the first shots of the Revolution. It is now a city park memorial.

This is the Battle road where the minute men fought the red coats all the way from Concord to Lexington sending them back to Boston.

This in the North Bridge where the first shot was fired known as "the shot heard around the world."

This is the Minute Man Statue to remember all the citizens who gave their lives for freedom.

There are of course more pictures! But I hope you get the idea. It was all very intetesting and very educational! Plus, it was great spending the time with just the two of us together. A wonderful experience!
