USU music major to perform senior piano recital
Anarie White Petroff will perform her senior recital on Friday March 21 at 7:00 pm at the USU's Manon Caine Russell-Kathryn Caine Wanlass Performance Hall. She will be performing works by Bach, Haydn, Schumann, Ravel and Kabalevsky.
Anarie has received awards in various competitions, including the USU Piano Festival, Music Teachers National Association, Albertson College and Utah State Fair music competitions. Most recently, she received third place at the UMTA Concerto Competition. On April 24 she will perform the Liszt Hungarian Fantasy with the USU Symphony Orchestra for the Concerto Night concert.
She currently has 15 private students and teaches group classes throught the USU Youth Conservatory program. She is one of the teachers of the USU Keyboard Harmony course. For the past two years, she directed the week-long Summer Piano Clinic for high school students and organized the Cool Classics Concert Series. She enjoys serving as an accompanist for students and faculty from the various departments in the music program.
